Have heard of an electrician's knife before, but did not know what it was or how it is used. Just had first practical on my 2330 course and we were told to use one, and how to use it. Does anyone actually use one in the real world?

Used one years ago when i was a apprentice dont think it was my toolbox for a week. Just not sharp enough went back to the stanley, think i've seen about 4 sparks use them in 22 years.

I have an insulated 1000v "electricians Knife" that my mum bought me for xmas somewhere. Not often used, the thought of 1000v and me cutting something makes me cringe.

Is that one of them fold out knives that wouldn't look out of place in some fishing tackle?

I use them 10-for-a-quid 'snap off blade' craftknives for several reasons.

i av 1 in my toolbox i prefer it to a stanley for strippin twin and earth as it a stronger blade, keep it well sharpened an it works great only use my stanley for armoured cable really

Used one on the am2 as your not allowed stanelys on site according to wilsden collage. Used my stanely anyway when the accessor wasn't there couldn't be bothered using the butter knife they provided.

Thats how its going now. H+S trying to reduce injuries from Mr Stanley and sharp knifes in general. There is an alternative !!!!
