Electricians rates

Hi All ,
I am just setting up my own domestic electrical business.
I am wandering about what to charge for an hourly rate for small jobs and what to charge for a day rate???????
I will be working in the south east area so want to be very competative as my overheads are also very small.
I would appreciate as many replies as possible to this question to get a broad idea ?

I've always aimed for £200 per day or £25 per hour, a bit less if i really need the work or its mates rates. i'm in london

Yup, £20-£25 ph for me, Cornwall based. Customers simply won't pay more than that out West and I'm still busy.

£3.50 an hour not a penny less alright then a quid, no really about £20-£25 is fair i think, a bit more if the customer is an arse

Got a call out yesterday. Small job to fix a couple of lights for someone I know down the pub. Turned out to be 2 new lampshades which his wife had bought.

2 of us, fitting time 3-4 minutes, embarrassment factor 100, bill £2,350 plus VAT.
