Hi guys, just a quick question for you.

There is a house that needs an emergency lighting system installed to make it compliant with HMO regulations. It has a first floor and an attic conversion.

I am unable to find a copy of BS5266 anywhere online so thought I would ask here.

What would I need to install to make it comply with BS5266, is it just an emergency light at the top of the stairs and then one in the hallway leading to the front door? also is it my choice whether or not to install mainatained or non-maintained? the councils report is very vague and doesn't elaborate on anything or provide a plan.

Hopefully someone can help, thanks.

lol unfortunatley its a bit more complicated than that!

the council will expect the competant contractor installing the system to produce the design and certification that meets the 5266 regs and the risk assessment

if you dont really know what you are doin i would suggest you pass up-on anything to do with fire alarms or Emg lighting, especially in HMO's

the current bs5266 is normally around £150 and you will not normally be able to download it for free
