have a tricky one here, maybe not for you as you know right and wrong.

there is a grid ceiling in a ground floor premises with a occupied flat above, now where the flat is above , it looks like its been boxed in as fire barrier, but the rest but the rest of the ceiling is just open space to the roof which is the flat aboves back garden...

the guy who is pricing this cafe against me is going to go with just standard downlights i think = his price cheaper.. what you think yourselves , if you understand ..

it does now seem that fire barrier already existis and im putting my lights on the grid ceiling not touching fire barrier protecting flat...

boxed in with fire board ? lights with hoods would be good as barrier to anything going up through the fittings as well, as it is a food place....suspended ceilings generally don't hold out for long with a fire anyway, but 5 minutes is better than nothing....the boxed in area should be at least fire rated plasterboard...

FP200 used for the lights as well?

yes the underside of flat seems to be boxed in with fire board, above grid ceiling , but the rest is just open too flat/bitumen roof.. as for using fire hoods , where the fireboard seems to be at front of cafe above ceiling tile/below flat, i only have 60mm so fire hoods wouldnt fit in.

why lights wired in fp200???
