I am an aerial and satellite engineer I have been in the game for about 25 years any questions just ask thanks

"Hello Sack2472",

Welcome to the Forum.

Would You mind please looking at My Post on Here: http://www.electriciansforums.net/f...e-worse-picture-quality-after-switchover.html - about the fact that ON Day 2 of the Digital Switchover in the London Area I found that the Freeview / Digital Signal / Reception that I had on ALL of My TV`s WORSENED on some Channels [All of the ITV Channels and Channels 4 & 5].

I had Excellent Reception / Signal Quality for YEARS prior to that Day - I wanted to ENSURE that I was `Switchover Ready` !

This Disruption of Reception / Signal Quality happens only when there is Heavy Rainfall.

I have Good Quality / Region Appropriate Roof Aerials and `Best Quality`/ Double Screened [Copper] Aerial Cables with Good Quality Plugs.

I Apologise that My Posts about this are VERY Long - But initially I wanted to `Fully Explain` the situation and then My replies to Members questions became also VERY Lengthy.

I realise that You may well say that this Problem cannot be `Diagnosed` without seeing / Testing the Signals from the various Aerials / Cables - BUT - I would appreciate it very much if You would read what I wrote about this `Irritating` Problem - even IF You then have to state that You have Nothing to Add to the already tried suggestions.

The suggestions were to try using Variable Attenuators - One and TWO connected together tried to see if I could Lower the Signal Strength and Raise the Signal Quality.

I tried this during Heavy Rainfall [When the Problem exists] but adjusting the Attenuators did NOT Increase the Signal Quality / Improve the Reception on the Affected Channels.

If You don`t mind reading My Posts I would really appreciate it and any suggestions from an Expert with Your experience would be VERY welcome.

Regards,

Chris

"Hello Sack2472",

I hope that You will read My Posts.

I just wanted to let You know that I will not be able to respond to any Message that You might leave for Me until about the end of the Week - I am not going to be able to use My Computer until Thursday or Friday at the earliest.

I wanted You to know this because if You ask Me something and I don`t reply within a Day or so I don`t want You to think that i was being `Ignorant` in not responding in a reasonable amount of time.

Regards,

Chris
