Discuss Green Deal for Microgen in the Solar PV Forum | Solar Panels Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

The model for microgeneration inclusion as part of the Green Deal has been trialled under a different name: Pay As You Save (Pay As You Save (PAYS) is an innovative finance solution that will give households the opportunity to invest in energy efficiency (such as solid wall insulation) and microgeneration technologies (such as solar panels) in their homes with no upfront c) which I'm pretty sure the Grean Deal will follow the same principles.

I was involved in developing the solar thermal offering with B&Q in the Sutton pilot. Solar thermal, even 2 years ago, would have been a goer with the Green Deal however the pilot was conducted on an area where all properties were solid wall meaning entire £10k budgets went on insulation - so take up on renewables was low, although participants did express interest in PV despite it being financially unviable at the time.

I'd be interested to see the return on investment via savings requirements, plus as TedM suggests it may well be worth exploring domestic energy assessor qualifications as the emphasise will be on energy efficiency first.
