I'm currently part p full scope for the past 5 years self employed and my main knowledge is domestic although I did do some commercial works with previous employer. I'm hoping to join the so called elite club as I find most main contractors or big firms request this as a minimum. My quals are 2360. 2382, and 2391.. I have recently been offered a contract for a large car park company who require maintenance and installs of sub supply of newly fitted car wash centres ( small set ups ) although the first job I have been asked to price is install of one light and two external socket outlets to the work shed, fair enough small ccu 20amp radial circuit for ip ratesockets to be used for jet wash, Hoover etc and a 6 amp circuit for an internal fluorescent light, 30mA protected obviously. Where my problem lies is that I have been told by the main contractor that the nearest mains outlet is 170 metres from the sited location.. I would like clarification on certain aspects before I even tender as I said before I am mainly domestically orientated but would really like to become approved contractor for the niceic as I feel this would benefit me no end.. I have thought the installation through, the works end is no problem but the supply I would run a 16mm 3 core armoured phase, neutral and earth from a 60 amp switch fuse (or would it need to be 2 core with separate earth) I know this is a bit long winded but any info will be useful thanks in advance...
