Hi all, if anyone could help me out here I would really appreciate it.
I've been doing some ECIRs for student houses as they will need this for their HMO lisence. I only recently passed my NIC DI and was waiting for the certificate to arrive so I could buy the certs, so in the mean time have started these tests and used basic forms from the regs book. However, upon trying to buy the certs I now find out the DI scheme does not cover you for ECIRs. It says it does on the website but the NIC tell me they have changed this now so only AC can issue them.
I know you can by the regs issue one without it being an NIC test sheet, the requirement being competent and experienced. I've asked the HMO lisencing people if they will accept one, and they seem to be a bit vague, not saying 100%. They say as long as you can prove you're a competent person etc.
The problem I have is now I have done these tests already I can afford to have my certificates not accepted. If I was to add my NIC reg number and possibly my cert from them to the ECIR do you think that would be acceptable?
Has anyone else had an experience with this and know the answer?
