Hi everyone looking for bit of advice currently doing an install on a slate roof on behalf of a major supermarket, no names.... anyway they have provided normal schletter roof hooks not slate anchors so obviousley the rails are sitting too high, after consulting the above I was told to overcome the problem i was to smash the slate until the joist was visible and bolt the standard hook to the joist and use lead cut offs around the roof hook, just wondering if anybody had any alternative suggestions? because I dont feel comfortable using the above method and certainly wouldnt do it on my own roof.

look back on here!! this subject with pics been well talked about!! but wrong brackets to start not good!! dont ***** sell the correct bracket:))

If you are taking any liability for the installation walk away now. Also get it in writing what they want you to do, so you have something to go back to them with when it leaks.
