Hi all, just after any ideas for a little favour job i've got to go look at. This skate park has 4 lowbay lights mounted over a large ramp, they recently relamped a couple but now they tend to flicker and go off. They are mounted on chains and have been angled slightly to spread the light better but i was wondering first of all if it may be a heat dissipation issue causing some sort of thermal cut out to kick in due to them being angled(top of lamp up). I have not got up to these lights there at 5/6 m high ,as its probably going to be a freebie so i'm trying to think of as many possible causes , so i can go as prepared as possible and do it in one hit.
cheers for any sugestions

I have installed lowbay lighting mounted at an angle on chain as you describe and have had no issues with them being like this.

check no connections have been knocked loose and maybe try switching the new lamps with old ones, or taking a spare ballast with you.

check the Lamps arent "Horizontal only" or "Vertical Only" also check the lamps and gear are same rating 400sonT lamps look the same as 250W Son T lamps

thanks for the feed back, i thought it would probably be a lamp or igniter issue personally, but being a favour job i was after any thing i might not have come across to speed things up, cause i'm not sure they can help with access up to them, so i dont what to keep hiring tower/borrowing a tower for loads of visits investigating and swapping parts but i guess theres no way round it until i actually get up there and strip em down to find out whats whats its probaly just wrong lamps for the gear seeing as its a recent thing since relamping, thanks again
