Long story short I completed my Nvq lvl2 in the late 90s and the company I was with went bust so I went down a different path. However, now in my late 30s I'm wanting to get back to it. So done level 2 at evening college half way through my level 3 and will do the 2382 and 2391 before next July. Ideally I'm wanting to do social housing fault finding kind of role however it's all about experience.
With all the stuff I've done at home the experience in theory is there but obviously I can't put myself as a referee on a job application so therefore I am looking for someone who is willing to give an adult learner a go.
The main thing obviously at my age is money as I can't really afford to leave my current job to take a less paid job even though in the long term it will pay off. At the weekends I did mobile discos etc which bulked up my income but Covid put an end to that. Should covid have not happened then taking a less paid job could have been an option.
So I thought I have 2 options the first being to work with someone full time but it had to be for the same pay as I get at my current job or helping someone out just at the weekends so as I did have someone in the trade who knew what I could do.
If the weekend option is more viable to someone I am willing to volunteer a couple of weekends a month but as it was voluntary I wouldn't want them depending on me every weekend but to be fair I'd give them notice if I was unable to help them one week.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this and if I can be of any help to anyone from the New Year please let me know.
