Have inspection soon and have done my install on my own house. Can someone please help with array test sheet.

module is upsolar 240x7 one string
array parameters stc. is this as a single panel or v x all 7

isc 8.4

protective divice type,dc rating and capacity ?

a very cloudy day on the irraiance meter only getting 50w/m2
my string test i got voc 217v
isc only 0.2
Is this correct

array insulation resistance 500v
ref iec 60364-713-04 pos earth 200 ohms
test method : annex-1 neg 200 ohms

Thanks for any help

get your irradiance meter reading and divide it by 1000
find out what the manufacturers VoC value is at STC for 1 module.
multiply the above VoC by the irraddiance reading to give you an estimated Isc reading that you should get at the array cable ends shorted together.

I think that's right, I may have confused it in my sloppy interpretation.

obviously, you need to do the daylight reading virtually at the same time as the Isc reading. It will vary depending on temperature as well, but as long as it's in the ball park, it's ok.

Thanks Pwee

By your calc's i'm getting a isc of 1.8.
The protective divices? is it the mcb/rcd they req
Once again many thanks for help

It must be, that's the only thing on the circuit, we're being assessed next monday, so I know how you feel. The peak short circuit current is the one nobodies sure about. I was told to put in the AC pscc reading at the isolator, as there is no info regarding it at the inverter.

good luck!

Thanks pwee and good luck for monday.Be glad when all done, head feels like its going to explode

You've got your Voc and Isc confused.

Form should be filled out as such:
Array Module UP-M240P
Quantity 7
Array Parameters Voc(STC) 37.6 x 7 = 263.2
Isc(STC) 8.4

Protective Device all sections not applicable (because you probably haven't got string fuses)

String Tests Voc 217V (your measured value)
Isc 0.2 (measured value)
Irradiance 50 w/m2 (measured value)

All the rest should be straightforward.

To check your Voc and Isc reading look at the IV curve on the data sheet.
Voc @ 200w/m2 is in the region of 34V,so for 7 panels expect 7 x 34 = 238V. Your reading is lower because the irradiance is lower, can you do it again when its brighter?

Isc @ 50W/m2 should be in the region of 8.4 x 50/1000 = 0.42A, again slightly out from what you have measured, try again and do it when brighter. Also make sure you zero the clampmeter.

If you PM I can send you and excel spreadsheet version of the form that also includes the dc checklist (as per DTI Guide).

good old yellow van man! u shud put ur cape on mate ! another mere mortal saved from the lions mcs den:)
