hi all, i have a query which i am hoping you can help with! i have just recently passed my 2330 elctrical certificate!! i am working for a company who have asked me to install anti condensation units in loft spaces!! they are designed to run of the lighting circuit on a 3amp switch fused spur!! as i understand this is only minor works as it is the same as adding a spur!!

my question is do i need to be part registered to fill out a minor works certificate and if not does any one now where i can purchase the certificates from?

many thanks in advance

wes.

No, you dont need to be 'Part P' registered to add a FCU in a loft space (Just ensure it complies with BS7671 and is Inspected and Tested).

You need to fill out a MWC. These can be downloaded from the net for free - not sure of sites. You can of course produce your own, ensuring it contains the minimum information held on the example copy in the regs book.

Hope this helps

You can download the forms from the creators :)

This is the page
Forms for electrical contractors - The IET

If you want posh ones, you can buy them off the Niceic Green ones I believe

thanks guys that is very helpfully, obviously i am eventually going to get part p registered but need the money so being able to fit these loft unit under minor works will allow me to sort it out in the future.

thanks again

wes

Guys, what exactly is Part P notifiable?

New circuits back to the CU, work in kitchens and special locations such as bathrooms, swimming pools, saunas etc. and any outdoor wiring (garden lights, pond pumps etc.)

Download a copy of Part P HERE.

Page 8 tells you what is and isn't notifiable.
