I have 19 12V downlights in my living room that I am thinking of changing to 240V LEDs (out of the Kosnic range from CPC, already put the 6w flood ones in instead of halogen in the existing GU10 holders in my kitchen and am impressed!).
I currently have the Tamlite Starlite range of 50w fire rated fittings installed with 12v TEC electronic transformers on each fitting. The sticker on the back of the fittings state 12V max 50w, and there's a class 3 symbol, which I believe to be SELV only. Therefore can I safely swap the G5.3 lampholder for a GU10 if double insulated and loop the twin and earth straight into the 3 pole block at the top of the fitting, or use HR Flex from the Joint box already in the ceiling? Or will there be earthing issues?
An alternative could be to use one of the existing transformers or new LED drivers to feed 4 or 5 fittings to avoid minimum loading problems and keep 12V lamps in?
