Hi all,

New here but I think this is the right place to post?

I need to replace an 8a 1000Vmax recitfier which I thought would just be a like for like easy swap but when I search for my dead one - rs_807 I struggle to find any on this island of ours. I can only find KBU_8M that appears similar. Could you please look at the two following and tell me if they are the same?

Dead one RS 807

Possible replacement KBU 8M

If anyone does know where I can buy a single rs807 (non trade) I would be greatful too.

Many thanks to all that take their time to look at this and big cheese to any answers.

common or garden bridge rectifier, RS, cpcfarnell, maplins.

Maplins would be easiest if you’ve got one near you. RS and Farnell you had to set up an account as I recall.
Do you really need a 1000V rating?

Sorry, I should have said in the original post: I phoned Maplins as I couldn't find anything close on their site and they couldn't help.
The rectifier is in a transformer for a reclining sofa, 240vAC 0.5A input, 24vDC output(though I measured 36v on one of the others) 3.5A.

Becuase it is in an existing pcb, I want to get the right dimensioned/leg layout for a straight swap. As for the size of the existing rectifier; I don't know why they chose such a capable unit but as I don't know what the lettering means on them, I was worried that the wrong one might lead to a fire risk.

Is there a difference between the two I linked above or are they the exact same item just from two different manufactures?

lol, I can get them individually from an ebay seller - I only put those two links up as they had the proper specs to them but thank you for pointing it out.

Bloomin' transormer knackered in it's coils somewhere :( I wish I did a more thorough test before wasting my time but we live and learn I suppose lol.
