I'm replacing a motion sensor for an outside light with a dawn to dusk one. Going into existing sensor 6 cables see pic.

the dawn to dusk sensor has these inputs:

Can somebody tell me please what cables go into which input on the new sensor? Many thanks.

From what I see you have a live-earth-neutral feeding, and a live-earth-neutral going out to the light.

your new sensor doesn’t appear to have an earth terminal, so simply join the two green/yellows together in a connector.

the N and L in the centre are going out to the lamp. That’s what the cross in a circle indicates.
The feed live and neutral go in the outer connections.

unless you can see where the wiring goes, it’s guesswork which live and neutrals are which. Looks like singles in conduit, so does one conduit run along to the light fitting and another come from the house?

if you’re having trouble, there are a few members in Scotland, including me, that could help you out in person for a couple of beers or some nice wine. Which region are you in?

The brown on the left (conected to the white wire) that goes in the L' terminal (switched live)
The other brown goes to the L terminal
The other two blues go to the N terminals. It wont matter which way round, they will be joined in the PIR anyways.
As above, the two earths need joining in a separate bit of insulated choc block.

Perfect, thanks so much.
