Is it acceptable to mount a ring doorbell transformer in a double back box with a flush cover / fused switch?

I can’t get the wires back to the CU and don’t want a large box sticking out the wall.

Thanks

I can’t see how you would mount it, they are to be mounted on a din rail if I remember correctly.
it should not be just floating around in a box.

You can get DIN rail boxes for mounting flush in a plasterboard wall, e.g. (scroll down):
Obviously a bit larger than a double back box.
