What do you think?

I was asked by a guy I know who has just taken over a pub to have a look at the electrics for him, just a brief once over to see what I thought and it doesn't look too good to me.

if you are ripping that 12 way CU in pic 1 out, save me the lid. i need 1 for a job that's got the lid missing.

bit dodgy having two supplies in there eh, from the pics is a single phase and is that a three phase also ?
Bit run of the mill for a pub though, they normally use anyone whose cheap and drinks there to do most things in them places.
I used to hate working on pubs for the reasons you have selected in photos. Now the bottom has fallen out of the pub game i guess even less money is there to spend on the places so may get worse.

I'm not getting involved with it but out of curiosity I would quite like to work out what's going on and shall be returning Friday to have a nosey.

The big board in picture 4 , two of those SWA's are distribution cables and the third one disappears up over the garage in the back of the pub somewhere.

Friday I shall open the door and see what's what, if you don't hear from me again you'll know why. :behead:

pubs and schools in my experience are the worst for add-ons and spiders off and spurs off spurs etc, looks like he's got some serious damp issues too

As has been said 'usual for a pub'. But at least there's some labelling and the mounting board is still fixed to the wall...........Not too keen on the idea of a commode in the corner though.lol.

I'm not saying.

The story is they have just taken over a really run down ---- hole of a pub and are trying to turn it into a restaurant.

The pub has been absolutely neglected for years and to be fair the new owner is trying to do things the right way.

I have quite a lot of respect for the Nepalese and so don't mind looking around the place for a bit of grub here and there, the kitchen is actually not bad.

Mind you after being in that basement I suddenly don't feel very hungry.

Is that ''Black Mould on the walls in Pic 3 and 4?? If it is, it's bad news it looks extensive too!! I wouldn't want to be staying down there too long, the spores of that stuff isn't too healthy for you ...lol!!

It's also a real nightmare to get rid off, you only need to miss a few spores and it's back with a vengeance. Even the professionals can have trouble completely eradicating the stuff, often having 2 or 3 goes at it!! lol!!
