Hi, am installing under cabinet lights as part of new kitchen installation. Would prefer to use 230V light fittings, but one,s I,ve purchased only allow one cable into them, so will need junction boxes. The junction boxes will be on top of the cabinets and lights on the bottom of the cabinets. Also the light fittings only allow cable access to them through a hole drilled into the bottom of the cabinet. So was a bit concerned that 230V cables (four of them) will be going through four different cupboards. Is this pretty standard practice or could I do better. Thanks

drill up at an angle to come out behind the cupboard/s in the space behind the back panel.

most do, but you'll need to drill the top board against the wall. see if the backboard (usually thin hardboard) flexes. generally 8 -10mm void behind it. sometimes it's easier to take the cupboard/s down to get cables in, then refit.
