Hi all,

I just hot back from a job... What a nightmare!

One fuse is broken - she said. Or something like that, you better have a look - she said. Ok. Yep, century old CU with wires hanging out both sides and a half broken fuse.
Well, it is dificult to buy these anymore and you know it will be safer if we just change the whole thing. Ok - she said.
Firs lets do a quick PIR to see what else is there.
Chacked couple of sockets all ok untill the last few which does not seem to have earth connection on them. Open up, wires there and connected but no continuity to the other sockets or earth terminal. Hmm... Lovelly!
Start opening up sockets to see where is the connection broken. After like two hours of strugling - nothing! The wires seem to be broken somewhere between two sockets. Sit down and cry(almost) when boyfriend walks in and happens to mention that there used to be a socket on the kitchen wall behind a cupboard behind the nice new tiles. He removed the socket and did the tiling himself!!!! NOW YOU TELL ME THIS! Ok, hammer out break tiles - look here all the earth wires are just hanging in there loose because "it is not needed anyway is it?" !!!!!
I tought about connecting his head with my hammer for a moment!

Needles to say that was the fault. Fantastic....

nice...!!

just as good as my ZS Reading of 300 on a TT installation!! (actually lack of TT installation and Bonding to that Matter!) not a Earth Wire in Sight other than from circuits!
