been to price up a job ,customer had a electric shower/ and tray fitted by a wet pants .customer wants me to connect up .up stair bathroom .now all the walls are plastic cladding
had a look in the bathroom ,mmmm now where is the isolator me was think
looked at the ceiling not there out side the bathroom not there .
so Mr customer where did the plumber put the cable .
down stairs in the cloakeroom he said . well below the bathroom. MR customer that cable needs putting up stairs. Mr customer says how is it going to be done .by taking the ceiling down and feed it to up stairs where it should belong .or get the wet pant back and ask him to start again

I was asked to fit a shower recently. I'd ran the cable, fitted the isolator and left the cable hanging out the wall.
Came back to find the shower wetwalled, shower fixed to wall and the plumbing done. I connected up, tested and powered up the circuit.

Shower starts... then cuts off.
I get the book out... then have a look at the plumbing.... back to the book... Hmmm.

This particular shower needs 1 bar of water pressure to work. The plumber took the water from the cold pipe to the bath, which is fed from a cold storage tank in the attic. approx. 3m above.

What I didn't know before that I do now is that water pressure from a tank is 0.1 bar every vertical meter above the outlet.
So, the shower is getting 0.3 of a bar. No way enough.
The homeowner cant get a hold of the plumber now, and there's radiators to hang, kitchen sink to fit and a few other jobs.

I might expand my skill set to pushing bits of copper pipe together.

Yes, the pumped electric showers for this application are much more expensive. So it's either replumbing or replacement (£3- 400 ish)
