HI all,

What do you guys think the next thing will be with renewables, or what other areas are there thats worth it now,

Heat Pumps,Biomass??

looking at something else other than PV now that seems dead, i assume that if you have the quality management system in place its pretty much the same across the board, and i know plenty of plumbers will to work.

thanks
Grand

To much uncertainty to invest money and time in anything renewable at the moment! Perhaps Mr Barker will help restore confidence, but doubt it ! I was thinking about getting involved in renewable heating solutions as a bolt on to pv especially with the gas phasing out in 2016.

Cost of heat pumps is mental. Only justified if off grid in new build.
RHI domestic will have to be very generous to make it viable.

Air source is little more than the back end of an air con system. This is the skill set you would need.

Air Pumps? Not convinced. If you're already on gas then it's not really worth it as far as I can make out. Perhaps one for the future.

If an Air/ground source heat pump is calculated and fitted correctly they are great, I have seen many, and have seen the difference in running costs over a full year over oil or LPG (which is mainly the alternative in my area), not too sure that they will be the future though, why? Because sadly it will involve the government with the RHI and EPC's.
I have experience in several technologies, and, yes I do sell them, but only what is right for the house and the customer, as to my future, after the announcement today, I think I should become a sniper, I believe I could earn quite well for just one job.....

I predict a requirement for a specified lumen output per watt for luminaires ( new and replacement ) within 2 years - and it won't be CFL's
