Discuss Would you advise getting all the GN publications or is OSG + 7671 + GN3 enough?? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

You always need BS7671

AFIK for the accreditation schemes you also need the OSG as it has a few guidance aspects not in the formal regs (like distances for fixing cables) as well as the "standard circuits" and minimum CPC sizes for common MCB which take a lot of uncertainty and mistakes out of 90+% of domestic work.

The GN are useful and having GN3 and GN8 is a very good starting point to cover most odd questions you encounter. if you can afford it then getting the whole set is a good idea, but it is not cheap.

I bought the complete set for 18th edition, but only updated GN3 & GN8 when amendment 2 came out. However, I am not in the normal sparky business.
