Could you just take the 16mm CPC to a crimp lug bolted to the SWA's banjo and, assuming 3C SWA, also put a lug on the cable's SWA conductor to the same bolt?

i.e. Ignore the switch's through-CPC connection and the box's terminal strip completely.

EDIT: Also you could use a nylock nut if concerned about it coming loose.

Yes I think that is the only option, it’s a lot of extra faff and the switches are not cheap

Could you knock the existing small terminal block off the box and fix something like this in its place with a pair of machine screws:

Depends on the fuse I guess. The On-Site Guide table B4 & B5 has smallest CPCs meeting adiabatic limit for fuse and Zs cases.

It will be a 80amp hrs, have seperate cpc so not relying on the armoured

This is totally confusing I assume from what you say the separate terminal does not take 16.0?

The main earth terminal which is part of the main switch takes a 16mm cpc max, there is a small earth block which will take a 6mm max hope that explains

You will have to calculate as to whether fitting a 6.0 to it will satisfy.

I will get over with unnecessary work as the switch fuse by wylex is very poorly designed

i still think there are a lot of these installed where the installer thinks the cpc connection is common to the enclosure

It really is a terrible design putting in such a small separate terminal however Wylex may have calculated the worst scenario for fault protection and that a 6.0 would satisfy. I would email them.

They are rubbish considering the price of them, as usual the designer has never had to fit one or they would have noticed the massive cock up with the earth terminal!
The last one of those I fitted I ran the SWA cpc to the earth banjo bolt and lugged the 16mm outgoing on that as well. As stated above an earth nut would probably be quicker!

Yes but if it’s 100amp supply and both 16mm earth connections are used there is no where to get another earth bond from
