Hi everyone.

I'm looking for help! I've passed the old 2330 level 2&3. 2392 and 17th edition regs. I'm looking to take the next ticket, which was the old 2391. Although not sure if my the 2392 covers the 2394 as its initial verification and all I need is the 2395 and is this different to 2395-01? Very confused as info varies as what to take after the 2395. The aim is the test and sign off my own installs and perform periodics. Would appreciate any advice

The straightforward line that is given is that the 2392 - Fundamental Initial verification stands on its own as a level 2 qualification.
The 2391 - initial verification and periodic inspection has been broken down into two qualifications the 2394 for initial verification and the 2395 for periodic inspections. These are all at level 3.

From that point you can then go on to 2396 (which replaced 2400) Design and verification at level 4 (a big step up).

As for which ones you take, this is down to the level of competence you have at the moment and how many pieces of paper you feel you will need to be able to demonstrate competence.
Initial verification will be a frequent requirement but if you are up to speed on that then the 2394 may be irrelevant, if you have not had much experience then the 2394 would be useful.

For periodics, this requires additional levels of experience and comprehension that cannot be gained through exams but if you are at that level then the 2395 would be a very useful qualification.

What a muggled can of worms all these C&G qualifications has made of what was previously a very simple and efficient system ........ but in this day and age of business you have to make your money somewhere! (Assuming of course that the basic physics of electrickery hasn't had a quantum shift requiring new training and qualifications to deal with what wasn't present before)
