Got a customer who wants to lock his vaillant eco tec boiler controls up and over ride the central heating with a remote 60minute manual reset timer. He says that tenants just put it on constant and leave it on - then they open windows when it all gets too hot. Anyone got an idea across which terminals this should be connected? should it be wired as a frost stat or the room stat perhaps? I've tried to get hold of wiring diagrams for the vaillant but no joy

Put the timer contacts in series with the thermostat, that way they will still be able to control the room temperature, (even if it's only for an hour).
Then point out to the miserable GIT that if they freeze to death, he'll be held responsible and locked up for manslaughter.

Forget the temp boost fit a fixed temp stat or secure stat, so customer cant alter it set to 21-degrees alternatively get pay by card gas meters in and inform the tenant to pay for their own gas and watch them be considerate about how they use it.
As mentioned above you cant restrict heating for tenants in this way are they supposed to get out of bed every hour just so they survive the night.
