Is it acceptable to NOT install RCD's for sockets provided that all the cabling is routed through wall mounted compartment trunking in accordance with the UK regulations?

My concern is that installing RCD's on 13A power circuits feeding electronic Data equipment could lead to inadvertent tripping and commercial loss.

It is not too much of a problem with other services as there is no significant commercial loss, i.e. lighting printers, water coolers! etc.

Yes for Regulation 522.6.6 concerning cables, when installed in trunking they do not need to have additional protection by RCD.

The sockets though may need to be RCD protected under regulation 411.3.3 unless you evoke the exception rule under segment (i)
