There seems to be a problem out there concerning batteries, I dont know if its poor manufacturing or what.
SLA are also becoming a problem with makes like Yulcel etc lasting only one year and splitting.
Our customers are not happy that the batteries in their fire alarm panels, which were only changed a year ago by previous company and now are red hot and swelling like a balloon. One customer has a damage wall now, after acid spiled down the wall.

buy cheap smokes and you will get cheap batteries.

I only fit the EICO ones, usually the sealed 10 year life rechargeable lithium ones.
otherwise the alkaline ones still are supplied with Duracell batteries.
