Was pondering and thought would put it out there......What sort of extra cost would any of you apply to a job with regards chasing.

I in general might add around an hours wage on top of the cost of the point..... I use a chasing machine with vac box.

how you guys work it? percentage? no extra cost? double?

You should charge what you a happy to work for after covering the overhead costs to sustain your business. You should then add a profit margin so that your business can grow and afford to invest in new equipment, staff and facilities. You have already invested in a chasing machine so you can chase faster than by hand . You can therefore gain from you investment and charge the equivalent time in chasing by hand, or give the benefit of the investment to your customer in reduced labour charges. Either way you will need to maintain and replace your machine and will need to be able to afford to do so. It's up to you. Welcome to the world of contracting.....

Agree with above....you need to settle on what you think it best. Some you'll make money on and some will be awful. Don't under-estimate the cost of the chaser and vac....they work in a foul environment and pack up quite a bit in my experience.

I always look at the job beforehand and check the blocks and length of chase.....for me they're the two critical areas.
