Discuss Din rail terminal blocks for data/telco cables in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

If you just need an enclosure to wall mount, then one of these is how you join multipair telephone cable...

Then you click in Krone 237A strips (bought separately, as are the label holders).
Krone "highband" modules do exist for jointing data cable, which also fit that enclosure, but I would never use them. "Disconnection" strips don't sound a good idea with modern ethernet speeds.

Can you give us a highlevel view of the problem that you're trying to solve ? What sort of data cables ? How many of them ? Environment details etc etc...

Where i have needed to joint data cables in a panel, din rail style, i have simply used ferrules on the data cable and standard terminal blocks, this has worked for RS 422, RS 485, KNX TP1.

I have not used this method for 1000Base-T ethernet and above , these have always been direct point to point connections, e.g. patch panel to data jack outet.

What is the actual application ?

As above, for high speed stuff like Ethernet you really have to preserve the cable impedance so any joins should be avoided, and if necessary (e.g. patch pannel, bulkhead, etc) then use type rated for CAT-5e or CAT-6 as required by the system design.
