I joined the ELECSA Part P scheme about 14 months ago so I must be overdue for my annual assessment now, but as yet I have no date. I've phoned ELECSA a couple of times over the last couple of months but it seems that they are not ready to give me a date yet. I'm not particularly bothered, I just get a little concerned occasionally that I might have missed their letter and the inspector might just turn up at my door unexpectedly at an inconvenient moment, or when I'm out, and then they might try to charge me for a missed visit.

I was just wondering if this delay is normal, or maybe something to do with changes to Part P assessments, and how much notice I am likely to get before the visit. Also, how does the annual surveillance visit differ from the initial assessment, will it basically be a repeat of last year's visit? Be interested to hear from other ELECSA scheme members.

Have you paid your monies??

Your "pack" you receive once you've paid outlines the expectations of what is required and I would recommend you get 2 jobs lined up for taking the assessor to. They normally only want to see one but I normally have a "bridesmaid" in reserve.

A mate of mine was due in November, he's paid but not had an assessment date either

Yeah, they took the money out of my bank account in November, not seen a pack or anything else. I got a pack last year though, and I'm assuming that it's the same deal this year.

Hum.... an interesting situation to be in.

They will want to see your BGB, upto date OSG, MFT calibration, PL Ins, certificates, estimates, invoices, and then off to the job!

Last year they gave me about 5 weeks noticed, then cancelled on the day, like the previous year, then a new date had about 4 weeks too!
