Hi Im wiring a fire alarm in a basement. Of a old house now converted to flats

The panel is going by the front door an i am drilling down into the basement. The hole is on the opposite side of the basement to the basement entrance. Now i am putting a smoke in the same room as the i am drilling. Now can i go straight from the panel into the smoke then into a call point an then from this call point into a heat alarm.

so to clarify can i go Panel -> smoke->callpoint->heatalarm
or should it be. Panel->callpoint->smoke->heat

sorry for long winded post firt time posting

There should be no problem, but need more info...what control panel make/model, detector, call point make/model. Plus are you not going to install sounders within this basement, you have an obligation to ensure a minimum of 65db within the building.

Well if you don`t know what your fitting, nor how to fit it.....how can you be sure your going to protect the poor residents living there.

Sounds like a design is required and not by yourself, Fire alarms are getting more and more specialist, my advice = Leave it to the professionals

Sounds like a rafiki smoke detector or could be a base sounder for hochiki/apollo....

Like the comment above would suggest leaving that job altogether...
