They have to be fire rated!

Any pointers on any reccommended low energy lights, or LED equivilant that wont break the bank?

Ie any that u have used and were impressed with. The local CEF do AURORA so will get catalogue on mon before i go?

cheers

Something like this?

I've just looked through my Aurora low energy LED book trying to find something fire rated, and have just noticed they do a Fire Rated books on it's own.

Aurora are good, but in the wholesalers there usually top end of the price range and I'm sure you'll find other manufactures just as good and save yourself a few bob!

Used JCC fittings a few times, I think there good

what u think about low voltage transformered fittings against 230v?

With the old dichroic/halogen downlights, using LV was more common as they gave a brighter light off than the 230V. The 230V always seemed more dull wattage for wattage. However in recent years as transformers seemed to become less reliable I ended up advising 230V where possible as it was something less to go wrong.
I haven't noticed much difference myself between LV and 230V lamps with regard to low energy. If I was to use LV fittings, I would most definitely go for a reliable brand.

For me Fitting GET 12v transformers with the JCC lights seems a whole lot more reliable than 240v. Anybody I talk to about their 240v downlights say their lamps blow constantly.

i like the JCC fire rated downlights too, they have a decent size terminal block which makes it easier to fit if you have a loop in system. I use the the JJC with 4w Kosnic LED GU10 lamps. I think CEF do the Kosnic lamps around 12 quid each, plus the vat. They are expensive but worth it with the energy saving and the fact they last much much longer!

I personally wouldnt go for low voltage!
