Discuss LED fire rated downlighters - 12v or 230v? in the Security Alarms, Door Entry and CCTV (Public) area at ElectriciansForums.net

I apologise if this is a stupid question!

What are the benefits of using 12v LED fire rated downlighters, over 230v LED fire rated downlighters?

I assumed that this is more cost effective using 12v as although they are more expensive they last longer and use less power, correct?

Can anyone recommend some affordable ones?

Thanks.

Go straight to 230v fittings. Less connections to come loose, transformers always fail, less risk of damage during testing or surges. Plus with the costs of JCC7s coming right down and a 10yr warranty there is no reason not to fit them in my opinion
