A guy is going to rent his flat out in Scotland which is a one bed.

He wants a 230v smoke alarm in hallway the bedroom is not off the living room so no requirement for a hard wired one in there.

Is there any regulation or requirement for a heat detector in kitchens or is that just personal preference
