Honeywell accenta g4

I have an accenta G4 system which haven't used for a couple of years and the bell box only sounds for a few seconds once activated then turns off.
It works on bell test and the internal keypad sounder works ok but I can't find anything in the setup which would suggest anything wrong.
Bell delay set to 0
Bell timer set to 1t minutes.

Any help would be great.

Have you checked in bell box that jumper link is set to twenty minutes and not still on the test setting

No I haven't checked the bell box.
At the moment I'm working on an assumption that it worked before and that it's not now so I would have to check.
I'm about 80% sure it didn't used to do this as it used to go off if we had a power cut and the other week we had a power cut and it rang for 5 seconds and then stopped with just the strobe working for hours.

It could be the bell box battery going dead and not enough juice to ring sounder
