Hi Guys

I very new to the world of sparkys, however I have spent the last 17 years working on Industrial equipment so I'm not entirely green to the concepts.

MY confusion is on the lead ratings for testers.

The probes / croc clips seem to be rated at 600v but the leads are only rated at 300v.

What happens then when performing an insulation test at 500v or 1000v? surely the leads are not rated for this task?

Thanks

Steve

the rating applies to the safe voltage you can apply from a live circiut. nothing to do with the test voltage generated by the tester.
