Hi all,

Everything works on my megger mft 1553 except continuity??

When I test continuity the fuse light comes on and stays on and I cant get a reading?

The fuse is fine

also brand new batteries?

Any ideads why? Anyone had the same problem?

Thanks

Simon.

Actually, just been carrying out some tests and the thing has gone haywire!

Looks like I need to send it off someplace.

Does anyone know anywhere in Leeds that repairs test instruments?

test meter.co.uk are based in Leeds they will just send it back to Megger. I suggest send it direct, they are based in Kent and are very helpful and swift. When was the last time it was calibrated?

We got two of them , well i say two one of the is at the back of the stores where it took a pasting the forth time it packed up in 18 month !
The other directors one which still some times works went back 3 times in the first 12 months which is going some if you take into account they had it for 4 months one of those times !
We have now brought a top speck fluke , stake kit an all . Would not wipe my derrière with a megga !
It will cost you about £90 and come back out of calibration !!!!!
Send it back where you got from unless it was off the tinter net , one of our ex employees had a 9 month old one that went bang and they told him to stick it when tried !
He now also owns a fluke !
Sorry mate it is going to cost !

Ok ive done it!
Remove the four screws at the bottom, then remove the label on top to find 4 more screws, opened the unit and found three fuses.
The one that is blown is a "F1A 250V".
I shall replace this tomorrow and re-calibrate!
Thats saved me a few quid :)
