Hi
I am looking for a wall chaser.
I have seen a metabo model at £00 and a "Sparky" at £200 for sale through Electrifix.

Does anyone have any comments on either??

Cheers

A colleague of mine has the Sparky as swears by it, nice bit of kit. Think he paid around the £200 mark (maybe also from screws**t oh sorry electrifix)
I’ve never used or seen the Metabo so can’t comment on it.

Personally I have a silverline £60 from the wholesalers. It’s about 3 years old and doesn’t owe me anything, haven’t even replaced the brushes yet (you get a spare set).
I wouldn’t say that the small amount of time I used the Sparky I noticed it was any better than the cheapy Silverline.

I think it depends on how much chasing you intend to do to be honest.
Hope that was some help

Cheers
Jim

Thanks for the reply
Do you know how bad the dust is with the Sparky model?

I have seen videos online for some machines that show literally no dust - but some people have told me that they wouldn't dare use a chaser in a domestic property because of the dust!

Thanks again

[FONT=&quot]Very dusty,
I've not seen a chaser that doesn’t cause a sandstorm.
I do think it was better than the Silverline from what I can remember.
Normally have vacuum attached (£45 from wickes, so far lasted longer than the 3 henrys’ we’ve had) but you still end up with a dust problem. So don’t for get those disposable overalls and dust masks.
Normally will try to avoid (at all costs) using a chaser in a domestic, unless it’s a referb.

Cheers Jim

Have always hired the Hilti chaser and vacuum when I need one, makes no dust or mess whatsoever. Sds chisel after makes more mess. I think they are very dear to buy though.

I've got the Hilti and the vac kit and as you say ^ there is no dust what so ever. I tried it without the vac on a new build as causing dust wasn't an issue, never again! got at least a bricks worth of dust in my face instantly :) well worth the money.

That the one, It's well worth buying outright as it cost £150 a day to rent from HSS on their website thats 8 days worth of chasing and its paid for itself. It is heavy but worth it.

Crikey £150 a day! I'm quite pally with the chap at my local Hire Station and I don't pay that a week! If I had the spare cash though I would buy my own, remarkable bit of kit.

Bought a METABO wall chaser last year, works absoluty fine, very liitle dust when used with HENRY the hoover but you still need to use dust sheets to cover up if the house is occupied:rolleyes:
