Good Evening
Have been testing a converted office block to flats last week and have found many circuits non RCD protected that serve high level Spurs in the landlords corridors (3 inches below ceiling). I was told that they don’t need RCD protection as the cable runs in between two metframe uprights. Where I’m understanding it does as the wall is made of metallic regardless of depth (Reg 522.)
Am I right. Spoke to the Niceic today and they said yes.
The building is being signed off as 17th edition amd 3
