Hello, I just had my house reqwired by a local company, which did include an actual electrician. They said they would give me the Part P etc. paperwork after I paid for it, which I have. but, it was a couple of months ago now, and they always give excuses about being too busy, out fo the office, man down this week, and so on. I'm beginning to think I'm not ever going to get it.

From my point of view, without the paperwork it didn[t happen and I've got big problems when it comes to selling the house eventually. Is there another way I can get over this problem, e.g. by getting another electrician in to inspect the system and sign it off, or something else to get the work regularised?

Persist with getting the Cert, but if you aren't selling or renting out now then it's not and issue.
Even when you did sell it's not a problem.

I've got a mate buying a Maisonette at the moment, with a £10 a year ground rent lease, from a family who inherited it.
New boiler fitted in the last 10 years, no paperwork, new C.Unit fitted in the last 10 years, no paperwork, new windows, no paperwork and finally an absent Landlord, presumed dead and estate not claimed.
All the neighbours are paying the £10 a year into a bank account originally under the control of the Landlord, the bank won't say (data protection etc) if anyone is collecting the money.

All being covered by indemnity insurance being paid for by the sellers at less than £100 for the lot.
