Hey there

i hope someone can give me hand here

So i have a light on/off switch which i want to change into a power outlet switch, the thing is i'm a bit confused with the wiring.

The Light switch has - 2x red wires, 1x green wire, 1x white wire, can i even change it into a power outlet?

My other power outlets have the normal x1 black, x1 red and x1 green wires

UK style 3 pin plug

Thank you in advance

Is that a two-way switch in other words the light it controls, is it also switched by another switch.

Yes you can if you have a constant hot wire a neutral and an equipment ground

You only appear to have lives at both switches so with no neutral it will not be possible.

It appears to have the neutral which is the white wire

It's in Malaysia though, which nominally uses a blue neutral like Europe, and in any case the white appears to be the switched hot, the two reds the travelers and the yellows the permanent hot.

Thanks for all the replies i really appreciate it, yes i am in Malaysia, so does this mean i can do what i intended to do? or i have to scrap the plan?

Thank you
