I am removing a privacy wall in a bathroom. I know I need to disconnect the wires from both the outlet being removed and the GCFI outlet.
My question is two part.

First, is that is easy as it sounds? I’ve watched tons of videos and read articles and I am moderately convinced that that’s a pretty easy job. My biggest concern is making sure I unhook the right wires from the GCFI.
Secondly, once the wire is unhooked from both outlets, can I just put wire nuts on the end and shove it back in the wall?

It’s stapled to one of the studs in the wall being removed, so I feel reasonably certain that where it comes down in the other wall to attach to the GCFI, it’s stapled inside to that stud as well. So obviously pulling it out completely is not an option.

Hi,

I just saw your post, maybe you have already finished your job!
A thought came to mind, and I like to do as much work myself as I can, mainly because it is so difficult to get anyone to turn up to do a small job. And who wants to beg, right??!!
I honestly think that an electrical job is best left to a qualified electrician. If you can get a local tradie to come and do the disconnection and make everything safe, reconnect it all later, etc. just pay the 'person' the few hours necessary ,and keep yourself safe and with peace of mind that it is reconnected safely etc.
Some things really are better left to the professionals. I had to abandon my roof repair job and pay 2 guys who knew what they were doing, to get it done properly.
And I guarantee you, your electrical job will cost a fraction of what I paid for my roof job! So spend a bit and stay safe!
