Hello Guys

I am in the process of lining up three jobs to show the NICEIC inspector for the Approved Contractor Scheme.
I have seen some software called National Certs, I would like to use this to certify my three jobs on the green certificate system, and would this be ok as I understand they are only the standard forms without a logo?
The sample jobs are for friends not paying clients so would the NICEIC inspector be performing the role of building control because these are notifiable works under the building regulations.
I will issue my friend with all the required Install certs once registered.

  • Edit

If the work is notifiable it's your responsibility to notify, you will only be able to use the NIC to notify once you are registered. A generic EIC will be adequate.

I've had conversations with the NICEIC and they were happy to use current work completed as part of the assessment and then allow you to notify via them for those jobs. (assuming they accept you of course)

Thanks Pat H

All of my work is domestic so would you recommend starting off on the domestic installer scheme or going the extra mile for the approved contracts scheme.
I was supprised to be told I can have three domestic jobs as the initial inspection for the approved contractor scheme.

I'd go domestic and get that sorted and then look at going the approved contractor route.
I was due to have my NICEIC assessment end of last year but had to defer it as too busy.
Now looking at Stroma which is cheaper and I don't need a lot of what NICEIC offers.

Only the Approved Contractor Scheme exists here, but I really can't see why anyone would opt for the other scheme if their work was suitable for AC enrolment.
