hi guys

I'm still awaiting my installers return and i have emailed power-one support , but still cannot get a positive answer on this

does the Outdoor version of the PVI3.6 work with the radio module- has anyone installed and got this combo running. the indoor 3.6 works but the outdoor i don't know

don't want to waste his time if they are not compatible - and the installer can have the monitoring system back.

cheers Mark

yes that combo should work. try searching for the inverter again. Power One HO in worthing Sussex will help you or your installer.

May be a faulty unit..desktops are nothing but hassle always the first thing to give you greif, I try to avoid selling them.

The installer has just been on phone to p1 - they believe the desktop unit to be faulty- the booklet says that it won't work though . You are not the only person to say that this combo should work - booklet says that it will work hard wired only and not via radiomodule

I had not spotted that in the booklet before. It worked fine with x2 PVI-3.0-OUTD that I have done so there should be no problem with the 3.6.

I think the problem is with outdated Power-One documentation!

I gave up on the desktop display after all the faulty units I had, last straw was when a P1 rep told me not to buy them either!

hmm could be - i updated the unit with new firmware - so i don't see the unit as being faulty - unless there is a hardware fault with the radio side of it

whats the exact problem? the inverter not talking to the desktop? please expand on the steps already.

We've had a few problems with P1 displays showing the date incorrectly and freezing from time to time. They've told us there will be a firmware update in the next couple of weeks that will fix this.

Yes mate, no connection from the inverter to the monitor- the radio card seems ok according to P1 support team

Me - I still think that the two are incompatible

The light seems to flash on the radio card as if it's operating ok. Removed it and reinstalled , checked the aerial for damage - it all seems ok

The. Display unit scans and finds something but no serial no comes up just a row of dashes

Ive had this before - and i pressed the little reset button on the radio card - did a scan and it came up - they are compatable as ive done a few of these on the 3.6 - the little button is tiny, have a look - its worth a try.

i'll give it a try tomorrow , cheers

Every time the firmware is updated, or if display is replaced from original one, or if it goes back for repair (they will update firmware), you need to push reset button on transmiter card as mentioned by Dansk, P1 paid me £65 to return to my customer who had returned faulty display to P1 and had had it returned, theyre engineers are authorised to pay up to a certain amount, think its £70, you need to keep this in mind if you need to go out, get an authorisation number from power one technical first though, you wont find this info given out freely for obvious reasons.
