The other side of the coin here is the fault was not with the appliance itself but may have been utilising the employee as a path back to earth through this equipment... ie - the large oven door may have been at a raised potential as opposed to the portable appliance, also to consider is the power outlets themselves are they faulty or incorrectly wired.

By any chance was the person who got the appliance wet, the same person who got the shock?
 
It was the Butler, either way someone must as a matter of urgency sort this mess out PDQ

Some ignition systems (Saabs in particular) can have 50kV, perhaps more.
saab have in there old handbooks a warning to stay clear of ignition system if you have a pacemaker apparently 800bpm sorry rpm can be dangerous
