I am installing a 32 amp socket in a commercial kitchen (3 phase) to supply a 12 kilowatt oven. The cable is to be run from a remote DB through a ceiling void and down to the socket point in metal trunking (cable to be 5 core SY armour braided).
My question is whether RCD protection is theoretically required as the socket outlet exceeds 20 amps. The wording in regulation 411.3.3 seems open to interpretaion. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

the socket is solely for the use of a piece of stationary equipment so doesnt need a rcd.
and will probably be a 5 pin commando socket anyway

thanks biff 55. That makes sense and also will save alot of extra work as no 3 ph rcbo available on this tyype of DB. Cheers.
