Hi. I'm hoping for some advice regarding an oven I want to purchase.

I currently have a gas hob that is also connected to the electricity for ignition etc.

My oven is hard wired. However, I wondered whether it is possible to blank the hard-wired socket and buy a plug in oven instead. Is this a relatively simple thing to do?

There is probably no reason why the existing connection point cannot be replaced with a socket although if the existing circuit does not have additional rcd protection then strictly speaking this would not be correct however, you could argue the socket would not be utilised for general use.
