Hi guys.

im second fixing someone else’s first fix and it’s been wired different to how I’d do it.
Got a two way in the lounge, at first switch I’ve just got a feed in & out and strappers. Second switch I’ve got strappers and switch. I’m going to use the grey from the strappers as my neutral, but where does that leave me for my black & brown?

apologies if this sounds very amateur, I’ve just not come across it before

cheers

L1 and L2.

PL into Com at the first switch, send L1, L2 and neutral over to the second in the 3C+E, then SL from Com and N to the light.

It's only using the third core to send N across the room, instead of SL back.

If you have feed in/out at the first switch why do you require a neutral at the second unless I am misreading it.

The switched live goes out of the second switch to the light, which why a neutral is required.

There are four ways of wiring a 2W switch - the one shown, the one that is the same, but the lamp already has a neutral, or there's one already present at the second switch and T&E is used for the strappers, the one where one switch is wired as it would be for a one way switch but with only a 3&E to the second switch, and one involving switched neutrals which is dangerous and illegal.
