Hi Guys just got round to stripping some SWA offcuts i've collected, going to pop to scrappy tomorrow, just wondering if its worth me taking the Steel armouring too or is it next to worthless?

A colleague tells me clean copper will currently fetch around £3 a kilo as price is currently down

I never scrap the armouring as I let a friend have it for his mixed metal pile couldn't comment on current prices other than if you have a decent length of cable you may be better of listing it on ebay/ gumtree. Made a better bit of dollar that way :icon4:

cheers guys, hope it is up at £4. no long lengths just 1m offcuts from street lighting cut outs.

Been to srappy today getting £900 a tone dirty. srappy said not to bother stripping unless 16mm or above. hope that helps.

mostly 10mm but I had a bit of 16mm and 16mm split concentic too which was easy to strip.

Guessing ive got about 30 kg of clean copper so may just clear £100 depending on current price

£3 a kilo is ridiculous, should be getting at least £4, wait until the price goes up unless you are that desperate for the cash. Glad I was sat down the other day when I was ringing around for prices.

As for the tax man simply declare it and then you don't have to worry about it.
